Case Study: Maverics Product Design
Over the last five years at Strata Identity, I designed the interface for their cloud based next-generation security and identity SaaS orchestration platform – Maverics Identity. Progressing the company from wire-frames, through hi-fidelity pages and ultimately into a live product used by customers such as Kroger, Motorola, Nokia and 3M.
Case Study: Complex Design Systems
At Strata Identity I created multiple Figma based design systems including variables for managing dark and light modes at the flip of a menu. I also created a React developer specific version containing only currently live elements in multiple states that were highly commented and descriptive.
Case Study: Using AI Tools for Live User Interfaces
As an educational experiment I have setup an AI enabled workflow inside Cursor/VSCode via Claude, Gemini, Opus, etc to enable faster interface design directly in React. The ability to focus on the mobile and desktop layouts, the breakpoints, the grids, the hovers, the menus, the navigation and all of their interactions; without resorting to detailed Figma prototyping and screenshots has been very helpful and quite eye-opening. The ability for designers to do this themselves and hand it to dev/engineering which can immediately both understand and take control of the code is a monumental shift in design workflows that are well worth taking the time to explore, use and learn.
Product Design (User Interface and Experience)
As a product designer I am responsible for designing interfaces, improving user experiences by iterating on designs, creating and maintaining all page layouts, user flows, icons, navigation, and all other design system elements.
Web Design (WordPress, Shopify, WIX, Elementor, Squarespace, html/css, etc)
I have built numerous websites over the years including corporate, commerce and SMBs. Typically I am responsible for all layout, communication, meetings, content collection as well as designing the logos, choosing the color palette, deciding on platform, building or making a theme, finding or taking photos and deciphering the users and clients needs. All while maintaining consistent production, typography, visual quality, affordability and a quick timeline.
Photography
I am a lifelong photographer, I primarily shoot product and landscape photography for use in websites. Being able to integrate professional product images or relevant photography into my designs has always been one of my go to methods for creating something unique. I have a small portfolio of my photos on unsplash.com and they have been used in multiple major websites theme packages including Squarespace, Wix and Figma.
